ABOUT ME
My approach to photography is persistently idiosyncratic (I'm mostly a self-taught photographer). I walk out of the door or step out of the car with my camera and make photos of whatever catches my eye as I walk along. I believe the best camera is the one you have with you at the moment, so I have no qualms about making photos with my iPhone (the ICM photos on this site were all made with an iPhone 8 or iPhone 13 Pro). Mostly, though, I use a Sony Alpha 6600 with a variety of lenses, although I tend to be lazy and use the kit lens, an 18-135 mm zoom that offers a lot of possibilities.
I live in Hillsborough, NC, and currently make most of my photographs in Orange County and the surrounding area.
I've exhibited my work in several shows at the Margaret Lane Gallery in Hillsborough, NC, and have exhibited virtually at the Decode Gallery in Tucson, AZ, and at the Black Box Gallery in Portland, OR. My show, "Orange County: Shadows and Reflections", opens at the Skylight Gallery in Hillsborough on June 30, 2023.
